Cody Jinks Announces New Album, ‘And, Again,’ Releases Reflective Title Track

Cody Jinks is BACK.

As one of the most underrated acts in the genre today, Cody Jinks is a lot of things. One part metalhead, one part Texas troubadour, the “Loud and Heavy” singer has both the depth and versatility few artists can ever dream of. Touching on themes of fatherhood, sobriety and his outlaw nature, Jinks has established himself as one of the premier artists in the country-rock scene.

Though he may not have reached the heights, popularity-wise, as his contemporaries like Tyler Childers, Sturgill Simpson and Jason Isbell, there’s no denying that the Jinks is one of the forefathers of today’s independent/alternative country renaissance we’ve experienced the last decade.

Last July, he released his 11th studio album, In My Blood, and it was yet another stellar outing filled with his patented blend of country and rock. Though there were plenty of standout tracks, namely the sobriety ballad, “Better Than the Bottle,” the introspective, “Found,” and the title track.

2026, in particular, has been quite the interesting one for Jinks. In addition to dropping a deluxe edition of In My Blood in July, the Texas native also flexed his versatility and hit the road with none other than the metal band, Five Finger Death Punch, for over 40 dates in the summer and fall, also teaming up with the legendary shock rocker, Alice Cooper, on “Moving Mountains” in October.

With that being said, however, fans knew that there was more on the horizon compared to just an addition to In My Blood and a surprise team-up with Cooper. Back in March, he’d take to Instagram to let fans know that he was in the studio working on yet another project.

“We start recording today… We’re gonna be stirring the gravy for the next two weeks, y’all. Whipping up some good, new sh*t for you.”

As it turns out, that “good, new sh*t” is coming incredibly soon at the start of the new year.

This morning, Jinks officially announced his 12th studio album, And, Again, which is releasing on Friday, February 26, 2027.

Notably, And Again marks the first time Jinks is releasing a project under the name “Cody Jinks & The Tonedeaf Hippies,” much in the vein of contemporaries such as Jason Isbell, who frequently releases projects with his band “The 400 Unit.”  While the “David” singer has always referred to his band as such, this is the first time they are specifically referenced in an official release.

And, Again it will be produced by Jim “Moose” Brown, a former member of Bob Seger’s Silver Bullet Band, who has co-produced Jamey Johnson’s That Lonesome Song and notably won a Grammy for Best Country Song, co-writing Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett’s “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere.”

Overall, the record will contain 14 tracks, including the aforementioned collaboration with Alice Cooper and the title track, which was released today.

As for the title track itself, it’s a homerun from Jinks. As mentioned previously, the 46-year-old singer/songwriter is about as authentic as they come these days, notably living out the hard times he sings about in his deep discography. Here on “All Again,” he directly references them in the sultry, solo-penned track.

“I went to California when I was twenty-two years old
I fell straight on my face
But in the name of rock and roll
I lived the songs I had
I had to write about the things I knew”

If the rest of the album is anything like the title track, we’re in for yet another gem from Jinks when And, Again officially drops on February 26th.
