Everett Bounds’ traditional country voice is once again making waves on Season 30 of The Voice. After making it through The Battle rounds, he has returned for the inaugural Cut week, which NBC’s describes as being the “biggest elimination” in the show’s history.
As he took the stage Monday night, viewers saw Bounds fight to keep his spot in the competition and continue into the Live Shows. The 23-year-old California native gave the performance his all, letting his country roots shine in full force with his cover of Clint Black’s classic, “Killin’ Time.”

Sporting his signature look of a cowboy hat, button-down Western shirt, jeans and a shiny belt buckle, he looked right at home onstage. Bounds’ rugged vocals earned applause from the crowd as he delivered the traditional country sound he’s become known for while leaning into the unmistakable ’90s influences.
Even the show’s host Carson Daly commented, “That was country, that’s for sure,” and the coaches agreed.
Coach Adam Levine joked that every time he hears the country hopeful sing, it feels like a “huge fight’s going to break out.” He added that the contestant’s ability to paint that kind of picture just with the sound of his voice speaks to his authenticity and charm.
“You’re a great entertainer. Great job,” said Levine.
Then Bounds got to hear from his own coach, Riley Green, who praised him for having a hand in keeping traditional country music alive in today’s generation.
“There’s something that’s so cool to me about how traditional country’s making a comeback, and you’re right there in it, man. You’re doing it and you’re really that. That’s an authenticity that people are going to be able to see at home. Congrats. It’s a great performance,” he stated.
Everett Bounds’ performance was unfortunately not enough to send him straight through to the Live Shows, but he still has a chance to stay in the competition. During Cut Week, each coach is tasked with sending home two artists from their team directly to the Live Shows while the five remaining artists performed for one last spot, which was also selected by their respective coaches.
Green automatically advanced Cade Mower and Ferryn & Brinkley from his team and gave the final spot to Joe Henley. This means that Everett Bounds is still at risk for elimination.
Other artists advancing to the Live Shows include Mia Knight, BigCountry, and Lillie Kolich for Team Queen; Lexi Stephens, Connor Closs, and Dakota Cohen for Team Adam; and Koumba Diallo, Anna McElroy, and Brianna Cameron for Team Kelly.
After seeing this week’s performances, America had the chance to vote for the one additional artist they want to make the Live Top 13. This result will be revealed during a brand-new episode of The Voice airing Monday, November 9 at 9/8c on NBC and Peacock.
Everette is still holding out hope that his time on the show will be enough to earn America’s vote.
“To make it to the top 13 would be electric. It would be amazing because I got a lot on the line here,” he stated. “I’ve done just about every trade there is to do out there. I’m out here chasing my dream. I’m taking risks. This is what I’m meant to do.”
