Country music icon Wynonna Judd is adding another major honor to her already impressive career.

Judd has been named the recipient of the ASCAP Golden Note Award by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).

According to a press release, the ASCAP Golden Note Award recognizes extraordinary career milestones achieved by songwriters, composers and artists. Judd joins an impressive list of past honorees, including Garth Brooks, Tom Petty, LeAnn Rimes, Lee Ann Womack, Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson and Don Williams, among others.

“Wynonna’s legendary career is defined by a singular, powerhouse voice and a rich body of work that has permanently shaped the landscape of American music,” said ASCAP Chairman of the Board and President Paul Williams. “As we honor her with the ASCAP Golden Note Award, we celebrate a true trailblazer whose soulful, unmistakable sound continues to inspire generations of music creators.”

Judd will receive the award during the ASCAP Nashville Songwriters Celebration on Monday, November 16, in Nashville. The invitation-only event honors the songwriters and publishers behind ASCAP’s most-performed country and Christian songs of the past year.

After first making her mark as one half of the iconic country duo The Judds, Judd went on to establish a successful solo career with the release of her self-titled debut album. She is a GRAMMY-winning, multi-platinum-selling artist and a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Judd recently entered a new chapter with the release of The Hard Truth, her first solo album in 10 years. The project also marks the first time she has included co-writes on one of her albums.

“It saved my life, really. It saved my sanity,” she recently told Country Now of writing the project and sharing her personal stories.

Judd is currently on tour in support of The Hard Truth, with dates extending into the new year.
