Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce Reportedly Burned All Of The Decorations From $30 Million Wedding

It sounds like they burned it all down.

On July 3rd, pop superstar Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce got married at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Permits filed with the city for street closures from July 2-4 revealed that the couple hosted around 1,000 guests at the event, there were tons of celebrities spotted on their way to the venue, and leaving after the festivities.

The ceremony was, predictably, a giant spectacle that resulted in streets being shut down around New York City and giant crowds of Swifties forming outside of Madison Square Garden – despite the fact that they couldn’t see anything that was going on inside the arena. Other than a few leaks (like the napkins that featured a questionable Taylor Swift lyric), the details of the wedding have remained pretty locked down thanks to NDAs and strict security measures put into place by the couple and their teams.

Considering Taylor’s country roots, it’s not too surprising that there were quite a few country star on-hand to help celebrate the couple, including Miranda Lambert, the members of Little Big Town, Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney, who seemingly cancelled two of his shows at the Las Vegas Sphere to attend.

Despite there not being too many details actually known about the wedding — outside of the location, some of the guests and the aforementioned napkins — it didn’t stop plenty of critics online from blasting Swift and Kelce for the seemingly extravagant ceremony.

And if you’re a Travis and Taylor hater, you’re probably not going to love this…

According to Page Six via The Daily Mail, a source revealed that all of the custom decor the couple had made custom for this event was burned to the ground. It’s estimated that they had around a $30 million wedding, so you can imagine how much furniture and other items were scorched…

The couple did not want anyone to somehow steal it and try to sell it, so they decided to just burn it all down:

“They didn’t want people to steal it and then auction it or sell it, so they just burned it all.”

I mean, that’s one way to do it, I guess…

The items included custom furniture that featured their logo with two “T’s” and “garden-like structures,” which were reportedly all taken from the venue in New York City to somewhere in Pennsylvania, where they were built, to be burned.

The source confirmed that it was all burned, but they didn’t know exactly where as I’m sure that was kept under wraps:

“They had told us it was going to be incinerated, but I don’t know where they actually physically incinerated it.”

It reportedly took 11 semi-trucks to move all of the set pieces and furnishings, because the couple was reportedly concerned that people would somehow get access to it:

“The fact that no one has relics of it and it all had to get burned and properly disposed of is kind of crazy. Eleven semi-trucks to transport cross-country and then just burn it all down was pretty wild, just because you don’t want people to have access to it.”

The source said that it wasn’t Taylor who made the request to have it all burned, though she was certainly very involved with everything because she “didn’t want to just be handed a wedding,” so I have to imagine she was on board to burn all of her wedding decor.

It sounds insane to a normal person to spend tens of millions and dollars on a wedding just to burn everything that was used, it’s beyond over-the-top and wasteful, but I can’t say I’m really that surprised because the whole thing was an ordeal from start to finish.

Speaking of Taylor, she was just inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame during ceremony at Music City Center in Nashville alongside Lyle Lovett, Shawn Camp, Lee Thomas Miller, and Bruce Channel. She was inducted as part of the Contemporary Songwriter/Artist category, becoming the youngest inductee in the organization’s history at age 36. George Strait was also honored as a special guest to receive the organization’s prestigious Career Maker Award.

Brad Paisley did her introduction and Lainey Wilson performed, and Taylor told a great story about Brad and a tour prank that involved crickets on a tour bus.
