The first single from Billy Currington‘s 4th album “Enjoy Yourself” today’s Lunchtime Lyrics song is “Pretty Good at Drinkin’ Beer” This song was written by Troy Jones and in an interview with The Boot, he recalled thinking about leaving school and all the things he was not good at, like digging holes, climbing poles, paving roads and the like and wrote it down. He set the song aside for a while and when he came back to it, he started thinking about the things he was good at, laughed and remembered that he was good at drinking beer. The song made it to number one on Billboard’s US Hot Country Songs and came close to top 40 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

“I wasn’t born for diggin’ deep holes
I’m not made for pavin’ long roads
I ain’t cut out to climb high line poles
But I’m pretty good at drinkin’ beer
I’m pretty good at drinkin’ beer”
