From the album “Rearview Town” this Jason Aldean song “Girl Like You” struck the singer songwriter the moment he heard it. The songwriters responsible for Dierks Bentley’s top 40 hit “Somewhere on a Beach“. Girl Like You became Rearview Town’s 3rd single and it made it to #5 on the US Country charts and #1 on Country Airplay in 2018.
According to Songfacts.com, producer Michael Knox introduced elements of R&B, hip hop and rock into the beat. “Our fans have always been along for the ride when we mess around with different sounds,” said Aldean. “I’ve always loved big guitars and a good groove, but we’ve never really done it like this before. The songwriters actually set the song down for a while and didn’t finish it in one sitting. Songwriter Michael Tyler went home a knocked out the first verse and sent it to Jaron Boyer and Josh Mirenda. They liked what they heard and went in and cut the demo. Jason actually used the original tracks from Boyer and Mirenda as the backing vocals to the final recording.
