Josh Turner‘s latest album “This Country Music Thing” released in August 2024 marks his first new music in 3 years and features his signature and recognizable baritone voice which is perfect for the road. His voice has been with us since 2001 and is reminiscent of the country crooners of the pre-outlaw country era. This Tunes Well Traveled choice “Down in Georgia” recalls the singer hitting the road for shows but missing that special someone from the South. Turner himself is from Hannah South Carolina and in this song he takes us to Indiana, Louisiana, New Orleans and Tennessee but longing for something special from Georgia.

“Now I’m riding these roads just as fast as I can
All night, ain’t getting no sleep
Running every light, can’t be satisfied
‘Til I get another taste of that peach
Yeah, I got a hold of something that I just want more of
Down in Georgia”

It’s time to hit the road with Tunes Well Traveled. We’re taking you to the cities, states, and towns that
have inspired your favorite artists and maybe even hold a special place in your heart too. From the big
city to dirt backroads, every destination has a story. Catch the Tunes Well Traveled song of the day, weekday
