As if you needed another reason to pick up the Twisters soundtrack album, this song by Bailey Zimmerman is it. Not released as anything other than a promotional single from that album, “Hell or High Water” maxed out at 38 on the country chart and has so far been the lowest charting song released by Bailey. But don’t let that fool you. This song absolutely deserves a second listen. The lyrics are a powerful message about how we can sometimes get in our own heads and catastrophize situations that might not be as bad as they seem.
“Is this as bad as it gets or is it gonna get better?
Is this some kind of test, or will it be like this forever?
‘Cause I ain’t ever seen a cloud this dark
And I ain’t ever been down this far
Is this as bad as it gets or is it gonna get better?”
